Hi, y’all.
Per requests, I’m going to try my best to blog about places I travel too. If you’re reading this, you probably follow me on Instagram. Which means you know.. I like to GO! Currently I just moved back from Florida where I was in school getting my masters. Now I’m located in Lexington, Kentucky. Having played basketball at Kentucky, I know a lot of my followers are located in a similar location, as well as love Nashville! I mean, how could you not?!
Any how, I love flying for travel, but most of the places I’ll be going for weekend trips will be drivable. Just like Nashville! It’s about 3 hours from Lexington. Luckily, I have friends who live super close. I went down to celebrate a friends birthday! This was my second time this summer being here, so this is a collection of both with attached pictures. Both times we spent Saturday on cedar hill lake then headed to the city!
A lot of the places we went to they suggested, so, I can’t say I’m the know-it-all Nashville traveler. However, sometimes it is nice to have it all in one spot, for the next time you’re traveling there. I had always been here for the women’s SEC tournament when we were playing, so I didn’t get to see or do much besides Bridgestone arena! That’s changed!
If you’re like me, you google a lot when traveling. But, it’s hard to tell what’s really a good spot. So, when. I blog I’m going to tell you where I go and if I would want to go back! I’m not in a partnership or anything so all honesty here! Plus, I’m far from rich, so you can bank on none of this stuff being a bank buster.. yay! A lot of you guys ask how to afford this, and I’m going to make a whole separate blog about that! I’ll give you a sneak peek, if I can do it, anyone can! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming..
Most of the time the things that bring people to Nashville are sporting events, concerts, all that. So these are just some great filler ideas for the other time you have! If you wanted to, you could make a whole day out of some of this though! Below is housing , coffee shops, thrift stores, dessert, site see, and fun stops on the way. Night life is pretty self explanatory here, so I left that off. There’s so much more I need to explore, but here is what I have now!
Enjoy. ⚡️
Housing⬇️
Hotel Preston: we split the room so it wasn’t too bad. That’s a key to traveling- travel with your bestie gals or whoever and split it! It was very neat and clean. We also were close to nightlife and all the stuff we did! A lot of people want to stay closer for the SEC tournament and stuff and I get that. However, I would definitely go back to this place!
Coffee shops🔽🔽
Fido: This has food and coffee. Plus it’s uhhhhh, dog themed. So you’ll definitely catch me there, dude. I would 100% go back. It’s located in a super cute location with lots of shops.
What I ordered:
The specialty coffee: THE OUTLAW (hot)
(So good, I loved it)
Milk and Honey: This was SO good. Plus, it’s super cute and I’m all about that. #instagood. We had an hour wait, but if you plan for that, it is worth it. We went into other stores and had a little photo shoot while we were waiting for our table!
What I ordered: lavender and honey coffee (hot)
(May be my favorite coffee ordered, ever)
I also had the kale salad with chicken on it. It was good and a healthier option! On my departure I bought my mom a jar of honey too! Yummy! I would go back. This is located about 1.5 miles from Fido!
CREMA: I loved the atmosphere here, but it was probably my least favorite in terms of location. A lot of people love it, though. It was kind of in an odd spot.
What I ordered: iced latte- no flavor. It was decent. I mean how can you mess that up!
I would go back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
Dessert⬇️⬇️
Legendary milkshake bar
Holy moly!!! This place is awesome. It’s a little pricey, but if you know that ahead of time I believe it’s worth it. I had the unicorn flavor! So good. I would love to go back and bring family.
Stores⬇️⬇️
Music city thrifted:
Such cute stuff. I’m into thrifted things that aren’t expensive. If you’re one who doesn’t like that, this is not for you, it’s like a slightly fancier goodwill. But it’s in Nashville so the stuff is great. I bought a vintage skirt and t shirt for 5$!! My friends got a lot of stuff too. I would definitely go back. This photo was a joke… maybe some saw on my insta story. 🤣
Site see⬇️⬇️
The Parthenon
This is supposed to be a replica of a building in Greece. It was super cool. If you’re into history, it’s awesome. Also a great spot for photography! I didn’t spend a lot of time here, but I did go!
Outdoor adventures: extra or on the way
So, I love outdoors stuff. When I travelled here the first time this summer I stoped a pit stop.. to Burgess falls state park and Cummins falls. Cummins falls was closed the day we went, so we only got above view. Most of these are from the state park. It was amazing.
